San Marco · Duval County
Exterior home care in San Marco.Historic homes on the river.
San Marco has some of the most carefully built homes in Jacksonville, many from the 1920s, on the south bank of the St. Johns River and under old live oaks. A Freedom Exterior membership keeps every surface on a schedule, so original materials are preserved instead of repaired.
What San Marco asks of a house
Original brick, stucco and stone
Older masonry is softer than modern materials. Kept right, the face and the mortar stay sound for another hundred years.
Tile and slate roofs
Clay tile and slate can last generations when they are kept clean and every tile stays whole.
Live oaks and river humidity
Shade and moisture from the river keep roofs, walls and walks damp. Mildew and algae start there first.
Ironwork and leaded glass
Iron rails, gates and older glass stay clear of rust and haze.
A membership here
Historic homes usually get more frequent, lighter visits on the shaded elevations and the roof, where the trees do the most.
A house can carry dozens of different materials on the outside, and every one of them is cared for as its own thing, roof to curb, so it looks right not just the day after a visit but in ten, twenty and thirty years. When we find something that should be repaired, we tell you while it is small, and we can take care of it for you. Repairs are priced separately from membership. How exterior home management works.

AfterHow membership works
The assessment
Kalen Yeager, our founder, walks the property with you, then assesses every surface on his own. It is complimentary.
The plan
Four Season Membership: four visits a year, one each season, built around how your house weathers. Some homes want more.
The record
Every visit is photographed and kept in one record of the house, so wear reads as a trend and repairs are caught while they are small.
Questions from San Marco homeowners
Will my old brick and mortar be safe?
No. The aim is brick and mortar that are still sound in another century. If a surface should be left alone, we say so.
Do you work in Riverside and Avondale too?
Yes. We serve San Marco, Riverside, Avondale and the rest of Duval County.
